In 2020, as the world grappled with the unprecedented chaos of Covid-19, we were united in a global struggle unlike any other. Now, as 2023 draws to a close and we stand on the brink of 2024, it’s a poignant time to reflect on that pivotal year and the journey since.
We faced unprecedented restrictions, with our daily freedoms limited, financial plans upended, and future uncertainties looming large. Dreams of travel evaporated, and our relationships were strained by distance or the pressures of close quarters.
Despite these challenges, I’ve maintained a unique resilience. Perhaps it’s my tumultuous life journey – a difficult childhood, frequent moves, relationships, personal losses, and financial worries – that has fortified me. Amidst it all, I’ve consistently trusted in the universe and my own strength.
Now, I focus not just on survival, but on thriving. I want to share my approach, hoping it might offer a new perspective.
Embracing Life Amidst Covid
My daily practices help me connect with my inner strength, find balance, and adapt to life’s unpredictability.
1. Affirming Life: Despite challenges, I’ve remained resilient, learning and growing from each experience. Staying open and curious has been key to my journey.
2. Physical and Mental Wellness: Exercise is vital, whether it’s a simple jog or a dance in your living room. Meditation, too, plays a crucial role in maintaining mental equilibrium.
3. Choosing Your Battles: I’ve learned to avoid negativity, prioritising my peace. This means sometimes distancing myself from harmful interactions, even within my own household.
4. Cultivating Gratitude: Acknowledging the good in life invites more positivity. Writing down daily affirmations has been a transformative practice for me.
5. Elevating Energy: Being mindful of my environment and the media I consume is crucial. I surround myself with positive influences and limit exposure to draining elements.
6. Personal Growth: 2020 was a year of learning for me. Focusing on personal development helped divert my attention from global chaos to productive and joyful pursuits.
7. Pivoting with Positivity: I believe every challenge presents an opportunity. By adapting and innovating, I’ve found new ways to apply my skills and thrive.
