April 2025 has a strange sense of déjà vu. If you’ve been watching world events lately, you might feel like history is repeating itself — protests, unrest, political upheaval. Interestingly, astrology backs that up. Something similar happened back in April 1968, and now, 57 years later, we’re seeing planetary patterns lining up once again, particularly in the sign of Pisces.

So, what’s going on in the skies, and how does it connect the dots between 1968 and 2025?

The Pisces Line-Up

In Vedic astrology, Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac — connected to endings, spiritual release, and the deep emotional waters we all swim through. When Jupiter is strong in Pisces, it supports peace, connection, and insight. But when Saturn and Rahu enter this same space? That calm gets disrupted.

Back in April 1968, both Saturn and Rahu were in Pisces. And guess what? That’s happening again in April 2025. These two planetary giants don’t play nicely together — Saturn brings weight, restriction, and reality checks, while Rahu creates confusion, illusion, and chaos. Together, they tend to stir up unrest, especially when they gather in Pisces.

1968 – A Year of Fire and Change

April 4, 1968 — Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, and cities across the US erupted in grief and rage. That same year saw massive protests, from Paris to Prague, Mexico to Germany, South Africa to Japan. People were standing up against war, injustice, and oppressive regimes. The world was loud, angry, and in transition.

This all unfolded while Saturn and Rahu were moving through Revatī — the final nakshatra in Vedic astrology. Revatī is linked with endings, transformation, and the breakdown of systems no longer working. So while the events were explosive, they were also part of a larger unraveling, making way for something new — like the Civil Rights Act passed shortly after Dr. King’s death.

2025 – Echoes of a Revolution

Fast forward to 2025, and the world is again buzzing with resistance.

Protests in Germany, France, and Hungary. Political uprisings in Turkey and Serbia. Demonstrations for peace in Gaza. Outcry in Nigeria and Sudan. Even in the United States, movements against powerful figures and policies are growing louder.

In Vedic terms, we’re in another Pisces “pile-up,” and this time, Saturn and Rahu are meeting in a nakshatra called Pūrvabhādra. This isn’t a gentle energy. Pūrvabhādra is intense. It deals with radical change, deep purification, and sometimes moral crises. It doesn’t ask politely — it strips illusions and shakes the system.

April 2025’s exact Saturn-Rahu conjunction on the 12th will likely bring a peak in global tension. We may see clashes, crackdowns, and ideological extremes come to the surface. It’s a short but volatile window, lasting just over six weeks — unlike 1968’s drawn-out drama, which stretched over months.

What Makes 2025 Different?

While the themes feel familiar, there are some big differences between 2025 and 1968.

  • Shorter timeline: In 1968, the Saturn-Rahu overlap lasted most of the year. In 2025, they’ll only be together for a brief time — late March to mid-May — before Rahu moves out.

  • Different nakshatras: 1968’s drama played out in Revatī, an energy of endings and gentle letting go. 2025’s events are flavoured by Pūrvabhādra — more fiery, forceful, and confrontational.

  • An eclipse adds intensity: The 2025 Pisces pile-up includes a solar eclipse, which tends to mark turning points. Its energy may be felt for up to six months after.

What Comes After the Fire?

On 28 April, Saturn leaves Pūrvabhādra and enters Uttarabhādra — a nakshatra known for deeper reflection and karmic resolution. This will likely signal the beginning of the “fallout” period.

Think of it like the quiet after a storm. The energy won’t be gone, but it will turn inward. People may begin to feel exhausted, disillusioned, and ready for healing. Movements might lose steam, and leaders who rode waves of anger could face backlash or burnout.

Rahu, still in Pūrvabhādra until November, will keep stirring ideological fires. But without Saturn’s grounding weight, that energy might become more scattered or easier to dismiss.

What Does This Mean for Us?

This period invites us to ask bigger questions:

  • What have we been resisting?

  • What systems are no longer working?

  • What needs to be released so something better can take its place?

April 2025 might feel chaotic, even overwhelming. But like 1968, it could also become a catalyst for change — not just protests for the sake of it, but deep, lasting shifts. The key is staying grounded and connected, even when the world feels unstable.

As the dust settles later in the year, we may not have all the answers — but we’ll know we’ve passed through something powerful.

In plain terms – 1968 and 2025 both brought (or are bringing) pressure points — but what came out of 1968 helped shape civil rights, political thought, and social progress. 2025 is offering us another chance to face what’s broken, and begin the work of healing and rebuilding.

We’re not going backward. But we are being asked to remember — and to choose something better this time.

The year 2024 wrapped up in a true Aquarian style – filled with drones and mysterious sights in the skies, rumours about underwater alien life, and the odd celebration of Luigi Mangione, a romanticised killer supposedly fighting for a noble collective cause. As we step into 2025, the cultural and political stage feels surreal. Pluto has only just started its journey through Aquarius, the most unconventional of the air signs, bringing shocks that blend humanity and technology in unprecedented ways.

2025 – A Year to Find Your Mission

This is the year to discover your purpose. While no one’s suggesting drastic measures like taking out CEOs, the focus is on standing up for the underdog and using individual strengths to make a collective difference. Aries and Pisces are in the spotlight, symbolising the spiritual and the physical. Imagination and reality blur together, creating a time when manifestations happen faster than ever. With the outer planets moving into new signs, it’s a paradoxical era of endings and beginnings, merging the intangible with the concrete.

We kick off the year with a touch of hesitation, thanks to Mars retrograding in Cancer until February. March sees Venus retrograde in Aries, stirring up romantic issues like a never-ending game of relationship Jenga. Some might face a solo spring, but shedding emotional baggage sets the stage for true independence in 2025.

Neptune and Saturn in Aries – A Shift in Leadership

In spring, Neptune and Saturn move into bold Aries, ushering in a fresh wave of leadership. Neptune, the planet of creativity and confusion, has spent 13 years in Pisces, where we embraced the mystic, inclusive ideals of the spiritual seer. But Neptune’s time in Pisces also blurred realities, fed misinformation, and made escapism all too appealing. Culture became a loop of recycled nostalgia, with glittering illusions outshining hard truths.

On 30 March, Neptune shifts into Aries for the first time since the 1800s. This signals a new cultural era, one driven by action and purpose. Gone is the Piscean passivity; Aries inspires us to take charge. Historically tied to revolutionary causes and spiritual missions, Neptune in Aries encourages creative innovation while connecting us to deeper psychic insights. We’ll idealise trailblazers, heroes, and bold action, with trends celebrating athleticism, courage, and youthful energy.

Saturn follows suit on 24 May, grounding this fiery energy by teaching responsibility. Saturn in Aries encourages us to commit to our creative goals while curbing impulsiveness and selfishness. Together, these planetary influences focus on self-discovery, autonomy, and turning dreams into action.

Eclipses and Nodes – A Time for Healing and Closure

The North Node moves from Aries to Pisces on 11 January, inviting us to tap into intuition and imagination while releasing Virgo’s tendencies for self-criticism and perfectionism. The eclipses of 2025 occur on the Virgo-Pisces axis, blending the physical with the spiritual and guiding us towards a higher connection to the divine. This is a year for trusting the process and pairing dreaming with doing.

Jupiter in Cancer – A Focus on Home and Heart

On 9 June, Jupiter shifts from Gemini to Cancer, bringing its luck and wisdom to matters of the heart and home. This is a great time to build stability, explore family history, and understand how our roots shape us. Expect themes of compassion, emotional depth, and potential reforms in areas like housing and women’s rights.

Uranus in Gemini – Revolutionary Ideas

Since 2018, Uranus has been shaking up Taurus, challenging our financial systems and sparking debates about bodily autonomy. On 7 July, Uranus enters Gemini, igniting rapid innovation and thought revolutions. Expect breakthroughs in technology, especially in transportation – think air taxis or ultra-fast flights. The emphasis will be on freedom of information and fighting censorship, creating a dynamic but polarising global atmosphere.

Pluto in Aquarius – The Rise of the Unpredictable

Pluto’s transit through Aquarius continues to transform how we use technology, offering both opportunities and challenges. Quantum advancements will blur the line between science fiction and reality. Hidden technologies may emerge, alongside debates about AI and surveillance. Yet Pluto’s Aquarian energy also empowers those on society’s margins, paving the way for unexpected leaders and unconventional ideas.

The Grand Finale

2025 marks the end of the predictable and the beginning of a bold new chapter. With celestial forces reshaping our world, this year encourages us to dream big, take action, and embrace both independence and collective purpose. It’s time to step into the unknown with courage and conviction.

The year 2025 is shaping up to be one of remarkable celestial activity. The four outer planets—often called generational planets in astrology—will all move into new zodiac signs, shifting the way we engage with the world. Since these planets move slowly through the zodiac, their influence is often profound and long-lasting. Get ready for a transformative year.

Neptune in Aries: A Dreamy Revolution

Begins: 30 March 2025, 2:24 PM AEST

The first major transit of the year occurs when Neptune, the planet of dreams and intuition, moves into fiery Aries. Over the next 14 years, this energy could spark revolutionary ideas that inspire collective consciousness. The last time Neptune visited Aries (1861–1875), spiritualism and mediumship gained momentum. This period encourages introspection, exploration of the unknown, and boundary-pushing in discovery. However, it’s important to practise discernment—don’t take everything you encounter at face value.

Saturn in Aries: Discipline Meets Ambition

Begins: 25 May 2025, 8:30 AM AEST

Saturn, the planet of discipline and structure, will enter Aries, igniting a drive to chase your goals. This influence often encourages independence, but collaboration will also be crucial. Over the next two and a half years, it’s wise to balance ambition with teamwork to avoid unnecessary conflicts and foster meaningful progress.

Jupiter in Cancer: Emotional Expansion

Begins: 9 June 2025, 7:12 PM AEST

Jupiter, the planet of abundance, enters nurturing Cancer, amplifying emotions and deepening connections with home and family. Over the following 12 months, this transit creates a fertile environment for heartfelt conversations and meaningful relationships. Be mindful, though—express yourself thoughtfully to avoid misunderstandings or regrets.

Uranus in Gemini: Innovation in Communication

Begins: 7 July 2025, 10:15 PM AEST

Revolutionary Uranus shifts into social Gemini, sparking innovation in communication and technology. The last Uranus-in-Gemini cycle (1941–1949) saw groundbreaking inventions like the transistor radio. Over the next eight years, adapting to rapid technological advancements will be essential. Embrace change to foster connection and collaboration.

A Transformative Year Ahead

With so many planetary shifts occurring in 2025, this year promises opportunities for growth and discovery. Embrace these celestial changes to make the most of this transformative time.

Super Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse Astrologically we are building towards A Total Super Moon and Lunar Eclipse (that will be fully viewable from the East coast of Australia).  On the 26th May at 5°25′ Sagittarius, many will feel the intensity of this.  This is the closest Super Moon of the year and as it is also a Total Eclipse this makes it a very powerful astrological event.

This event will herald in a time of intensity that will continue for some months around issues to do with the law, natural law, the truth and disclosure.  Many truths will come to light at this time.  Just remember that 2021 is a year of disclosure.  This intensity will be most strongly over Australia, South-East Asia, Western US, and Western South America.

Before we get to the 26th May Saturn becomes stationary on the 23rd May at 13° Aquarius and remains retrograde until the 11th October.  When any planet becomes stationary to change direction it symbolism is magnified, so it is possible that the spectre of greater control, more laws, rules, regulations and controls could come in at that time in some areas.

People who’s moon is in Libra (Issues around fairness and justice) squaring Pluto that same day, will feel the intensity more than others.  We will need to be disciplined and have patience with this which some may not have, especially with the square from Uranus to Saturn.

We may be reviewing how control and rules have been used in society (Aquarius) and whether that is for our greater good.  You may find personally that the house where 13° Aquarius falls in your chart experiences some delay or obstacles.  Saturn retrograde motion is supposed to teach us patience but as it does not move direct again until 11th October, and the Uranus energy is so strong now, we may not tolerate any further restrictions.

Where does 5° Sagittarius fall for you in your chart?  This is likely to be the time of significant endings, people and circumstances moving out of your life, and permanent changes.  Although this may fee destabilising  at times, the universe often propels us forwards to new episodes at Eclipse times for our evolutionary growth.  Consider what you know deep down that you should release and surrender now.

Added to this we have Jupiter currently in Pisces, that will make many of set on a path of finding a more spiritual meaning to our lives.  Many communities will be formed from this. Jupiter in Pisces can also bring more attention to water issues (literal symbolism=expanded unlimited water), therefore the potential for flooding, and potential shortages/price increases in oil and fuel.

Six planets will be in Mutable signs at the Lunar Eclipse, detaching us from known anchors, but increasing our creativity to create a new paradigm for ourselves.  Our creative clay has become softer and more malleable as the old collapses the new is not yet fully birthed.

Think of yourselves increasingly as diamonds that are formed under pressure.  We are entering a more complex time when top down powers may appear to be stronger; for many this will only increase our resolve to build a better world.  We are the New Earth Builders, keep that as your future vision.

Once in a lifetime Events do happen.  At 10.33pm (AEDST) on the 21st December 2020  look to the sky and you will notice what appears to be a bright star in the sky, often this is called the Christmas star, but this year it is a very special one, it is the first time in more than 800 years that Jupiter and Saturn have been this close, along with it being in the sign of Aquarius.   This is known as the Great conjunction, this does occur every 20 years but never this close.  It is a time when the planet of structure and restriction, Saturn, meets the planet of growth, expansion and miracles, Jupiter.  This marks a social shift throughout the world and will see leading into 2021.  It’s really going to be a new day – a new era.
The Great Conjunction happens on the solstice – which in itself is a powerful time of year.  Solstice and Equinox points mark the change of seasons, but they’re also when the Sun enters a cardinal sign.  This means a time of action and taking steps forward to initiate change.

Added to this for the past two hundred years, Jupiter and Saturn conjunctions   have occurred in earth signs.  2020 marks the beginning of the next two hundred year cycle.  This time, Jupiter and Saturn will conjoin in an air signs and start a cycle that lasts until 2159.  This year, they pave the way for Pluto’s entry into Aquarius in 2023/2024.

When Jupiter and Saturn come together, there is a restructuring of our legal institutions, judicial systems, we will see new leadership rising into power.  We stand a the bridge between our history and what’s possible for the future.

Together, Jupiter and Saturn combine expansion and opportunity with the structure and discipline needed to make real and last changes in our collective beliefs, ideals, and philosophies.  Not to mention the societal structures that promote and uphold those ideals.  We can manifest  the future we envision as well as clear what no longer serves us.

So what does all this mean for the upcoming conjunction in December?

Saturn and Jupiter will come together in Aquarius, the humanitarian sign of connection, community, and organised groups.  It’s also the sign of technology, invention, and innovation.  How can you use your unique gifts to contribute to the whole?

With the Renaissance as an example, new technology arrived in Europe in all sectors that enabled people to have more leisure time to pursue knowledge and culture.  We saw breakthroughs in education, the arts, technology, science – in all aspects of life.  It was also the time of the Humanistic movement, that brought religion from being above the people to the people, and allowed for the rebirth of Western science, and laid the framework for the philosophy that would be used in the age of Enlightenment and beyond.

Hopefully, with this year’s Great Conjunction, we’ll realise ways to create more inclusive and just societal structure.

So, we could see innovations in technology.  We’ve already seen a massive jump in communication technology as a result of COVID-19.  We see themes that played out in the 90s was last in Aquarius.  At that time, we saw email becoming accessible and the internet becoming more widely available in our homes.  We saw the start of Prodigy, AOL, Microsoft MSN and CompuServe.  Chat rooms and online forums connected people from all over the globe.  Now, we see Zoom connecting businesses and individuals in our everyday lives.

This conjunction will also be forming a challenging square aspect with Uranus in Taurus that will be a big theme in 2021.  We’ll see more and more crumbling of old governmental, religious, economic, and corporate systems that we’ve outgrown.  We’ll also be more forward-thinking when it comes to climate, environmental concerns, and our communities.  As these planets enter into Aquarius, they encourage us to see ourselves as one humanity.  This is where we’re moving, but it will take some time to arrive at that destination.

If you would like to know how this transit will affect you in 2021 why not speak to one of our psychics who can give you insight of 2021.
